The Pheasant HOLE # 9: PAR 4 The ninth hole demands a proper
placement for the tee shot to make hitting the green in regulation
possible. The ball needs to be on the left side of the fairway or
the gigantic ash trees that protect the right side of the green
will shut you down. Going over those trees is extremely difficult,
making that shot a low probability. If you are unfortunate enough
to be on the right side, your best options are to lay up in front
of the water or partial swing a lower lofted club - like a 6 iron
- to fly the ball under the tree limbs and clear the water. The
low iron shot is a difficult one but it comes in handy on other
holes like 3 and 7 on The Pheasant and 16 on The Roc.
